Merger plans driving ahead
THE STAGE is set for Disabled Drivers’ Association (DDA) and Disabled Drivers’ Motor Club (DDMC) members to vote on the proposal to merge at meetings to be held in the last weekend
in June.
The Merger Working Group, comprising three trustees and the senior staff member from each side, has continued the process of “due diligence” and its analysis of the logistics. The two
senior staff, Douglas Campbell and Ed Passant, have also obtained professional advice on the legal and financial aspects of the merger.
“There are still some technical details to be agreed but the time is fast approaching when members will have their say and vote on the proposals,” said Ed Passant.
“The DDA will be holding an Extraordinary General Meeting on Saturday 25th June and we will discuss the merger at our Annual General meeting on Sunday 26th June. This will be a historic weekend for both organisations.”
Full details of the proposals, a straw poll on potential names for the unified organisation and the precise wording of the resolution to merge will be published in the June issue of Disabled Motorist.
DDMC Members wishing to attend the AGM, to be held at the Radisson SAS Hotel, Stansted Airport, should contact the DDMC Office for more information.
