A reluctant rise
The DDMC Council of Management is reluctantly recommending modest increases in membership subscriptions (see below). We've pegged prices for over five years, whilst at the same time making massive improvements in the quality and frequency of Disabled Motorist, but now feel that rising costs give us no choice.
Membership of the DDMC will still offer incredibly good value for money. As well as a unique magazine that, with 10 issues a year, gives unrivalled coverage of issues concerning mobility and disabled people, you'll also be part of a vibrant campaigning organisation – fighting on issues that matter.
And it doesn't end there: we've more than doubled the number of volunteer Area Representatives and are still expanding, with the aim of giving you a local point of contact
with the Club, wherever you live.
Our information service has saved members thousands of pounds. For example, to combat the ignorance that still exists in some sections of the trade, we've provided extensive coverage of the fact that wheelchair users may be eligible to purchase and maintain a new car without paying VAT. That's a saving of 17.5% on the purchase price and servicing/repairs.
Most importantly, we can offer support and assistance when you need it. Perhaps you are in dispute with a supplier of mobility equipment, or you are trying to persuade your local authority to install a disabled parking bay. We may be able to give a little extra muscle.
